Peter M. Rhee is one of the most popular and richest Surgeon who was born on September 18, 1961 in Seoul, United States. As Director for the Navy Trauma Training Center at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center, Rhee became involved in an interbranch dispute between the Army and the Navy in regards to the introduction of new hemostatic drugs designed to treat battlefield bleeding. While the Army was using a blood-clotting bandages known as HemCon but it was the Navy and Marines prefer another product, known as QuikClot. After conducting tests with HemCon on the Navy Trauma Training Center, Rhee said in December of 2005that “I’ve tried every one of these products, many times, on many different kinds of wounds. For big-time bleeding – and that’s what we’re really worrying about here – HemCon doesn’t work.” Although Rhee prefers QuikClot however, he had reservations about its commercialization in 2003 due to of the possibility of misuse by consumers who were not trained.
